Frequently Asked Questions

On this page you will hopefully find an answer to any questions you might have about our Bouncy Castles and our Service. If, after reading this page, you are unable to find what you are looking for, please contact us.

Do you deliver, set up and dismantle the bouncy castle?
Yes, this is all included in the price.
When can I hire a Canterbury Castle?
Our castles are available from May 15th – September 15th – 7 days a week.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Our castles come complete with a shower cover (which also acts as a sun shade). In light rain the castle can be towel dried and your kids can continue to bounce. If the forecast is for heavy rain then you may cancel the castle, with absolutely no penalty, as late as 8.00am on the day of the hire.
How big does my garden have to be and what surface is best?
Our castles require a flat grassed area, clear of all obstacles. The size depends on the size of castle you are ordering and we require additional space of approx 3 ft around the castle. For example a 12ft x 15ft castle will need an area of approx 15ft x 18ft.
Do I need to keep the blower going?
Yes please. However, if there is a change in the weather and it becomes very windy/rainy then simply switch off the castle and wait for it to deflate.
Do you provide me with safety/operating instructions?
Each castle comes with a safety chat by our staff member. They will also ask you to sign a safety guide to say that you have read, and are happy with, the operating of your castle. You are of course expected to comply to these safety guidelines throughout the day whilst in charge of the bouncy castle.
Can Adults use the Bouncy Castle?
Unfortunately "Canterbury Castles", at present, do not have castles for adults. If an adult is seen to be using our castle we reserve the right to cancel the booking and remove the castle. If you are requiring an adult castle then there are a number of companies who specialise in these.
What time can I have my castle delivered?
Your castle will be delivered between 8.00am and 11.00am and generally collected between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Specific times can be discussed at the time of booking.
Is Canterbury Castles a member of any recognised organisation?
Yes, we are members of TIPA (The Inflatable Play Enterprise) and BIHA British Inflatable Hirers Alliance.
Can I collect my own castle?
For safety reasons we insist on delivery and installation of your castle. We will also give you a safety briefing.
What do I need to do before you arrive?
Please ensure we can gain easy access to your garden via paths or walkways. We will need a width of 3ft of clearance to enable the sack trolley to pass. Please clear away all debris from your garden including sharp stones, excessive mud, dog mess and any other object which is in the way.
Can we move the castle?
No! For both insurance and safety reasons you are not to move the castle under any circumstance. It must remain in the same place as installed by the delivery team.
Are you insured?
Absolutely! We are fully insured with Public Liability which cover accidents which were our fault, such as equipment failure or failing to install a unit correctly. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that there is adult supervision of the unit, and equipment, and the supervision of the people using it, at all times.
Do you supply safety mats?
Yes! All our castles are delivered with safety mats. You are kindly asked to ensure these are kept at the front of the castle at all times. Please note these are not designed to be landed on too heavily so any child seen bouncing on the front step should be asked to move back into the main bouncing area.
